Infectious Disease Air Ambulance Team

AeroMD Infectious Disease     The infectious disease air ambulance  AeroMD medical team has thoroughly trained to prevent the spread of infectious diseases (bacterial, fungal or viral) during patient transports. Throughout the bedside-to-bedside medical evacuation process, AeroMD nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists consistently meet or exceed customary safety standards. This includes wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves and face masks. As appropriate, AeroMD pilots also wear masks.
Medevac aircraft in-use by AeroMD have been treated with MicroShield 360, which works to prevent the spread of viruses and associated germs. This treatment eliminates mold; flu; norovirus; COVID-19; E. Coli and other bacterias; from the aircraft cabins. Medical equipment is sterilized between patient transports, while one-time use items are properly disposed of according to hazardous waste protocol.    As part of an annual training retreat and daily continuing education, AeroMD medical team members exercise acute attention toward preventing the spread of infectious disease. This includes protecting the patient and themselves– avoiding contact with skin; bodily fluids; human waste; contaminated water / food; or potentially tainted objects. Infectious Disease Air Ambulance Team is a highly trained, skilled and dedicated team.
Particularly as the world was dramatically affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, the AeroMD team further increased use of extensive PPE. The team committed to prevent both patients and themselves from potential inhalation of infected droplets or particles in the air.    Patient safety comes first and foremost at AeroMD. Accordingly, the team continues to stay abreast of the latest medical news and take whatever steps are necessary to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. AeroMD strives to provide patients and their loved ones with peace of mind, knowing that every detail of a flight mission has been well thought out and practiced, to ensure safe and secure medical transport.
